Praying is an important part of our faith, but you don’t have to know any prayers if you want to pray – just say what is in your heart and what you feel.
There is always a quiet space in the Cathedral should you wish to pray and light a candle; candle stands are located at various points throughout the building. We also have a chaplain available during visiting hours if you would like to speak with a member of the clergy.
Visitors to the Cathedral are also very welcome to leave prayer requests via the point in the South Transept. These prayers will then be read by members of the clergy during services that week. You might wish to make a prayer request for a family-member, friend or loved one in need, but it is entirely up to you. Alternatively, you are welcome to get in touch with us via our social media channels (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram), or send an email to prayers@gloucestercathedral.org.uk, and we can ensure your prayer request reaches a member of the clergy.
