Lantern Procession Carol Service

Saturday 16 November 2024, 4pm

The Lantern Parade returns starring 'Enchanted Winter Forest' magical lantern creations by local schools. The evening will begin here at Gloucester Cathedral with a Carol Service at 4pm. All are most welcome to attend, with no booking required.

The Lantern Parade will then take off from the Cathedral grounds, featuring music, folklore characters, and woodland creatures lighting the way to Kings Square.

Schedule:
Gloucester Cathedral Carol service: 4:00 - 4:30pm
Lantern Parade start: 4:45pm (Gloucester Cathedral Grounds)
Tree of Light switch on Ceremony: 5:15pm Kings Square
Lantern Parade Finish: approx 5:45pm

  • Parking

    We are sorry that due to limited space, parking in the Cathedral Close is restricted to pass holders only.

    There are eight disabled parking spaces which are for use by Blue Badge holders on a first come first served basis.

    However, there are several public car parks within easy walking distance of the Cathedral.

  • Arriving by Public Transport

    The Cathedral is located in Gloucester Town Centre, so the best way to get here is by public transport.

    We are a 10-15 minute walk from both the train and bus stations. You can also use Gloucester’s Park and Ride.
