FOGC - Architecture course final session

24 July, 11.30am-4pm

This is the final session of our architecture course, which will cover topics including, but not limited to:

  • Introduction to Norman architecture, including a tour of the Crypt

  • Introduction to Early English and Decorated Architecture

  • Visit to Gloucester Cathedral's Lady Chapel

  • Introduction to Perpendicular Architecture, with a close look at the Quire and East Window

  • Learn about the Cathedral's magnificent Cloisters and (optionally) climb the 269 steps to the top of the tower

  • Visit our Mason's yard, and see their work up close with the opportunity to ask questions

NB: it is not possible to swap between the morning and afternoon sessions, and courses will not run without a minimum of 7 participants per session.
